Simba A campsite

Is a public campsite inside the Ngorongoro conservation area located in the South-East of the crater rim. This camp has two dinings, two kitchens, and two sets of toilets.

The Simba A campsite is the largest and most useful than Simba B by being closer to the crater and Loduare gate where most tourists come from.

For those planning to visit Olduvai Gorge, there is no long-distance from the road. Remember to bring warm clothes because the camp is cold in the morning and at night.

Simba B campsite

Is one of the public campsites in Ngorongoro located on the South-Eastern rim of the Ngorongoro crater. This camp is next to an airstrip with an amazing view of the crater.

For anyone who needs to use this camp, must do an earlier booking. Simba B is the location of the tented camp, so you can also book it.

What to do there?

Spend a night, especially after a long day in the crater or conservation area. The campsite is also a good place to be for those who would like to start roaming the park early.

Just remember to bring warm clothes, and a good sleeping bag/tent combo as it does get cold during the early hours of the morning.

Best time to visit Any time of the year, with more emphasis towards the December to February months, just after the short rains and when the wildebeest are in or near Ngorongoro.

Facilities at Simba Campsite are basic but this is more than made up for by the atmosphere of this camp in the clouds. Guests are reminded not to keep any food in their tents whilst staying at Simba Campsite – unwelcome visitors such a bush pigs and hyena may be attracted.
