Nanyuki is the equator town that also serves as a popular base for people climbing Mt. Kenya at the equator the water drains in a clockwise or anticlockwise direction North or south of the Equator Mt. Kenya is an imposing extinct volcano dominating the landscape of the Kenyan Highlands, East of the Rift Valley. Mt. Kenya lies about 140 km North, North-East of Nairobi with its Northern flanks across the Equator. The mountain has two main peaks – Batian (5200m) & Nelion (5188m). The mountains slopes are cloaked in forest, bamboo, scrub and moorland giving way on the high central peaks to rock, ice and snow. Mt. Kenya is an important water catchment area, supplying the Tana and Northern Ewaso Ngiro systems.

Itinerary

Your journey will begin from your Nairobi Hotel at 06;30hrs then you drive north through the lush Kikuyu farmlands and coffee plantations to the cool Kenyan highlands arriving Nanyuki around 10:00hrs, we shall have a stop-over at the equator crossing point where by you have a short demonstration about Coriolis , effect. There many things you can in Nanyuki one is have a gamedrive at Olpojeta conservancy, or visit the animal orphanage at Mt. Kenya Safari club, or to Mt. Kenya National park depending on the weather.
You will have lunch there after at Mt Kenya safari club, or at Trout tree hotel or any other place depending with your specifications and budget. You will depart for Nairobi in the afternoon with a stop over at the equator view point drop off at your Hotel.
