Details of Safari from Zanzibar – 3 days Lake Manyara Tarangire and Ngorongoro National Park safari
DAY 1 – ZANZIBAR –ARUSHA-TARANGIRE NP
Flight Zanzibar – Arusha Airport 11:30 – 12:30. Transfer to Tarangire National Park.
You’ll be picked up from your Zanzibar accommodations and taken to Zanzibar Airport for your flight across to Arusha.
Upon arrival in Tanzania’s safari capital, you’ll be met by your Shadows of Africa driver and whisked away to Tarangire National Park. Considered to be Tanzania’s most underrated park, Tarangire is a fascinating landscape of baobab trees, large elephant herds (the largest in Tanzania), baboons, buffalo, lions, impala, giraffes, zebras, and more.
After your afternoon game drive and picnic lunch, you’ll be taken to your overnight accommodations.
After your day’s drive is done, you’ll retire to your campsite/lodge for the evening.
DAY 2 – TARANGIRE NP – NGORONGORO CRATER
After breakfast, you’ll depart for Ngorongoro Crater; sometimes considered as the 8th Wonder of the World. When you get your first glimpse of this vast, verdant caldera from the panoramic viewpoint, you’ll soon understand why it has earned such a lofty reputation.
Home to over 120 species of mammal including the fabled Big Five, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area is one of the most sought after safari destinations in the world. It’s a particularly good place to see the endangered black rhinoceros enjoying a lonely meal out on the grass plains, as well as a place to see large numbers of hippopotamus enjoying the cool water.
From the comfort of your open-top vehicle, you’ll be able to observe and photograph some of Africa’s most recognisable faces. The crater is home to a large number of predators including lions, leopards, cheetahs, jackals, and hyenas, as well as a large population of wildebeest, zebras, antelope, cape buffalo, and more. It is truly one of Africa’s premier safari destinations.
After your day’s drive is done, you’ll retire to your campsite/lodge for the evening.
DAY 3 – NGORONGORO CRATER – LAKE MANYARA NP – ARUSHA – ZANZIBAR
You’ll finish your safari experience with a journey through the primordial wilderness of Lake Manyara National Park.
The former filming location for the classic Tarzan films, Lake Manyara is famed for its tree-climbing lions, its wallowing hippos & buffalo, and its brightly coloured variety of birdlife.
After your game drive and picnic lunch, you’ll return to Arusha for your flight to Zanzibar.
In the afternoon, you’ll head back to Arusha Airport.
