Whatever budget you’re on, a safari in the Masai Mara National Reserve in Kenya is a trip of a lifetime. The wildlife viewing is consistently superb. The wide-open savannah makes spotting animals easy, and you’ll find yourself driving from one great sighting to the next. The moment you arrive you’ll be welcomed by big herds of grazers dotted on the open plains, and it won’t take long to find some predators too. There isn’t a bad time for a safari in the Masai Mara, but come here between late September and October and you might observe the wildebeest migration, one of Africa’s greatest wildlife displays.
